Over this past weekend, rumors flew that Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez had gotten married. Although there was speculation, there was no confirmation; leaving fans wondering if it were true or not.
However, Grande’s representative recently told PEOPLE that the two in fact, did say ‘I do’. Her representative said Ariana and Dalton had gotten married on May 15th, at their home in Montecito, California.
Gomez proposed to Grande back in December 2020. Ariana, being more than excited to say yes, shared the news with her followers on Instagram shortly after. The couple received overwhelming love from family, friends, and fans. Everyone knowing the hardships Grande has faced in the past years, it is truly a breath of fresh air and she deserves nothing but the happiness she is experiencing.
After their engagement, they immediately started planning a wedding. The original plan was for the couple to have a ‘big wedding’. However, with COVID-19 still being a factor, a ‘big’ wedding may have had to be something in the distant future.
The two did not want to wait for the distant future to become husband and wife. The longer they waited for COVID-19 to subside, the more the couple realized they really wanted to make it official as soon as they could. So, they ditched their original idea and went for a small, intimate ceremony instead.
The couple kept their ceremony under wraps, making it only exclusive to close family and friends. The ceremony was held at their home, where the two shared their special day with about only 20 guests.
Ariana Grande has always valued loved ones in her life. Her close friends and family have always been the most important thing to her and that has never waivered. The star says she was ‘very happy’ they were able to have a wedding this way and keep it quiet.
Grande’s representative had this to say to PEOPLE about the wedding, “It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people. The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”
For a huge star like Ariana Grande, it is pretty much impossible to keep any aspect of her life out of the public eye. While she doesn’t complain about this fact because of her fortunate fame, it is very special for her to have a ceremony like this kept personal with her loved ones.
