What would you do if you had an unexpected incoming FaceTime from Justin Bieber? Most people would answer without hesitation. However, Kacey Musgraves may be the only one to hit the decline button.
Kacey isn’t just declining because she doesn’t want to talk though. Truth is, she answers a majority of his FaceTImes, but she claims he calls her a lot and most of the time without any warning.
In an interview with The New York Times, Kacey revealed that Bieber has started FaceTiming her randomly at any time of the day. She told the TImes this after she actually received a FaceTime mid interview from the pop star himself.
Her phone began to ring during the interview and when she looked to see who it was, it was Bieber himself. Musgraves quickly made a face at her producers and then answered him. She immediately said to Justin, “You freaking love an unannounced FaceTime, dude.”
After she got off of FaceTime with Justin, Kacey explained that Justin has just been calling her “a lot” lately. She jokingly said, “I’ll be lying in bed, hungover at 8 a.m. — FaceTime. It’s a decline for me, but he’s so sweet,” she said. “Anyway. New friend.”
Even though Kacey may not be a big fan of unexpected FaceTimes, it’s all in good fun. She says that she’s happy to have a new friend, it just seems Bieber calls at bad times. Can you blame Musgraves, who wants a FaceTime that early in the morning when you are nursing a hangover?
Despite the caller being one of the world’s biggest pop stars, Kacey is just not having it. Perhaps setting up a schedule of when FaceTimes can be accepted could help the two get on better track.
While it’s not known how this new friendship budded, it doesn’t come as a surprise as they both have some of the same friends. The two also are both major artists, so music is always something to bond over. Who knows, maybe there might even be a collab on the way?
Kacey does have a new album coming out September 10th, but there is no word that it includes a Justin Bieber feature. Kacey does say her upcoming album, Star-Crossed, “tells an extremely personal journey of heartache and healing.” This is her first album she will be releasing since her divorce.
Whether Bieber is FaceTIming Kacey about music, or just because he likes having a new friend, she appreciates him, but maybe he can start calling a little later than 8am.
