Jason Sudeikis Reflects on His Past Relationship and How He Chooses to Handle Split

Jason Sudeikis recently opened up for the first time about his split from Olivia Wilde in a recent interview with GQ. In this interview Sudeikis talked about how the break up negatively affected him, but how he’s not letting it keep him down.

The interview did not just solely focus on his break up, but also his amazing accomplishments from this past year. His show, “Ted Lasso”, was a hit after premiering in August 2020 and he received a Golden Globe for his performance. Sudeikis is also nominated for an Emmy from the first season and the second season is set to come out this month.

As you can tell, Sudeikis has had his fair share of highs and lows this past year. On the cover of GQ Sudeikis is seen jumping in the air holding a tennis racket as if he just scored match point, with the cover story being “Jason Sudeikis is Having One Hell of a Year.”

As mentioned, this interview was the first time Sudeikis opened up about his break up with Olivia Wilde. The two were engaged for 7 whole years and share two children together.

The couple decided to go their own way back in December 2020. By January 2021, Olivia Wilde was seen with a new man. That new man being heartthrob Harry Styles. This quick new relationship Olivia formed with Harry had fans speculating that maybe there was something going on which is what caused Sudeikis and Wilde to call it quits.

Despite speculation, no one can be sure what really happened in their relationship or what caused the two to go their separate ways. Neither party disclosed what caused the split and Wilde is still being seen spending a lot of time with Harry Styles. Most recently packing on PDA on a boat in Italy.

Sudeikis did talk about his break up for the first time in the GQ interview, but again, didn’t give a reason as to what happened. In fact, it seemed that he may not have so much clarity on the situation either.

Sudeikis told GQ, “I’ll have a better understanding of why in a year and an even better one in two, and an even greater one in five.”

Sudeikis made it clear though that he isn’t going to make any excuses and he is going to learn from this hard life lesson. He says he’s going to take his accountability for this situation and grow from there.

Suddenly ending a 7 year engagement is a difficult hardship to face, but Sudeikis is taking it in stride. He explained to GQ that, “If you have the opportunity to hit a rock bottom, however you define that, you can become 412 bones or you can land like an Avenger. I personally have chosen to land like an Avenger.”

Sudeikis is clearly not letting his split keep him down and he has a lot to look forward to like the premier of season 2 of “Ted Lasso” on July 23rd.
