T-Mobile Expands Commercial Offerings With 5G and More

In hopes to compete with the country’s two largest mobile tech giants, AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile adds 5G to their network of cell coverage. Along with 5G, T-Mobile is planning to launch a variety of services to expand its presence in the business-to-business market. T-Mobile’s business-oriented solutions to difficulties working from home will help the company secure its place among its competitors. 

Announced on Thursday, T-Mobile’s 5G connectivity will allow the cell service provider to cater to the increasing number of people working from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Adding 5G to their network will drastically improve Internet speeds to accommodate the increasing number of workers and students doing their work at home.

In addition to added 5G coverage, T-Mobile plans to add commercial coverage plans with unlimited 5G data, workplace communication interfaces, and “Home Office Internet.”

The “Home Office Internet” plan will allow T-Mobile to partner with employers who are struggling to meet the needs of their employees who are stuck working from home. The program targets workers with unreliable internet connections or those who are sharing their internet connection with others in their homes.

If a company subscribes to the “Home Office Internet” program, T-Mobile will provide each employee with a personal router to use that allows them to connect to a cell tower for their internet connection. Anybody working from home with this program will be able to access the powerful 5G connectivity that T-Mobile is planning to implement. 

Additionally, T-Mobile intends to offer unlimited data plans that will allow them to compete with the limited plans of AT&T and Verizon. T-Mobile’s unlimited data plans lack a set price, with CEO Mike Katz stating that T-Mobile will “match or beat” any of the prices set by competitors. 

T-Mobile’s commercial offerings will also include access to T-Mobile Collaborate. T-Mobile Collaborate is a powerful suite of workplace collaboration tools that includes video meetings, automatic audio transcription, and acts as a replacement for traditional phone systems.

T-Mobile Collaborate can also integrate into programs like Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Slack, and Salesforce so that it can be accessed by any employee.

The developments from T-Mobile will drastically improve the company’s standing among competitors. T-Mobile’s unique portfolio, including the acquisition of Sprint, gives the company the infrastructure to capitalize on the rapidly changing economy and accommodate people working from home with poor internet connections.

Unlike AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile will be able to expand into the business-to-business market by using the infrastructure gained from Sprint to expand 5G coverage. T-Mobile’s focus on business-end solutions to workplace problems can help the company become a favorite of large corporations and individual users alike.

Beginning to expand in the business-to-business market can drastically increase the value of T-Mobile. Commercial clients are expected to be the largest source of revenue for cell-service providers because of the need to work from home. By partnering with large corporations, T-Mobile is opening itself to rapid growth and a bright future amidst the chaos caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
