France Lifts the UK Travel Ban and Mandates Heavy Safety Regulations for Travelers

Less than a month after placement, France announced a lift on the travel ban from the UK. The ban only allowed visitors if they had a good reason to be there and forced them to quarantine upon arrival. All travelers provide full proof of vaccination, including booster shots if eligible. Furthermore, guests need to present a negative Covid test within 24 hours before arrival. The original ban was set after the Omicron variant consumed the world with illness.

Visitors will have more freedom to visit for leisure, but they must sign documents promising to adhere to safety regulations. Unvaccinated travelers will need a reason to enter and must quarantine for ten days upon their arrival. A vaccine passport program is in place, allowing venues to scan a QR code on your phone to prove vaccination status. Even though proof of vaccination is required, masks are also mandated as an added safety measure.

With heavy safety regulations in place, France sets the standard for travel. As the pandemic continues to get worse, the rest of the world is sure to follow. Travel is essential for many, and the goal is to make it as safe as possible for people to do so.
