How To Stay Focused On Defeating Frustration

Image

Frustration and stress are killers

They will absolutely cause your cortisol levels to skyrocket, which will lead to negative health and wellness outcomes over time.

Unfortunately, there’s really no magic bullet for defeating stress.

Stress and frustration are going to happen.

They’re natural byproducts of an imperfect world—and of our natural, survival-oriented human existence.

With that being said, it is possible to focus your awareness on defeating and overcoming these emotions when they arise.

If you can manage to do this, you can help yourself to find more peace, harmony, and happiness—and less stress and frustration.

Here are 3 steps that you can take to start this process today

1. Be Aware Of What’s Happening

Most of the time, we feel stress and frustration because of events that are going on in our life.

The problem is that we’re not always aware of exactly why we feel this way.

So whenever you start to feel stressed or frustrated, it’s really helpful to focus on trying to back engineer the ‘why’ behind the feelings.

Can you figure out exactly what situation or circumstance in your life is causing the issue?

This can give you helpful insight into what is causing the problem—which can, in turn, open up a pathway to helping you solve it.

2. Come Up With A Solution

Once you become aware of what is causing the negative emotion, you can take measures to make a plan and deploy a solution to the problem.

This is the step where a lot of people get lost.

When you don’t understand what the problem is, it’s nearly impossible to solve it.

And that will only lead to a continuing cycle of progressive stress.

On the flip side, if you can figure out how to solve the problem, you may be able to do away with the source of the stress and get back to a peaceful and harmonious day.

It takes some work, but it’s well worth it, in the long run, to keep all that stress from spiraling out of control.

3. Understand That Life Isn’t Perfect

So, sometimes there’s truly magic in having the ability to just ‘let go’ of stressful things.

We all have to accept the fact that we’re going to face circumstances in life that are going to stress us out.

Sometimes, we will be able to overcome these situations with a simple change in perspective, or with an action plan.

But sometimes, all we can do is put our heads down, keep working, and work through the situation with a long-term plan and lots of effort.

This is one of the more difficult things to achieve in life—and it’s easy to cave in to anxiety in such situations.

But it’s really important to stay aware of the process, to remember that life isn’t perfect, and to remember that if we can learn to let go of stressful situations enough to deploy solutions, and if we will just keep working on those solutions—well, this can really help to minimize the negative emotions we feel on a daily basis.

And this is really, really good for your overall health and wellness.
