Sony’s ‘The Interview’ a Huge Digital Success

 

After terrorist threats were made to any theater that showed movie ‘The Interview’ Sony decided to release the movie online. The movie was made available through YouTube, Google Play, Xbox, iTunes and through a dedicated website. For a 48 hour rental going for $5.99 and for purchase at $14.99

The movie was made available on Wednesday and by Saturday Sony says that the movie was streamed or downloaded more than two million times generating more than $15 million in gross revenue its just three days. There was also a strong turnout in its limited release in theaters.

Thanks to the hack the ‘The Interview’ is now the most successful movie ever in terms of digital sales and rentals.
