Kate Walsh On Her Brain Tumor: ‘I Got Really Alarmed’

Kate Walsh has opened up about a health scare she faced in 2015. The Grey’s Anatomy alum says she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor after suffering extreme exhaustion and cognitive difficulties.

“The exhaustion got to the point where I could drink five cups of coffee and still not feel awake or clear. And then around April, I started having more cognitive difficulties,” Walsh, 49, explained. “I would lose my train of thought, I wasn’t able to finish sentences, and that was when I got really alarmed.”

An MRI showed a large tumor in her frontal lobe, and Walsh underwent surgery to remove it three days later. It was discovered to be benign and she has made a full recovery.
