President Biden Expects to Make His First National Address on Thursday Night

As the United States House of Representatives remains poised to pass the $1.9 trillion stimulus package, President Biden expects to address the nation on Thursday night to discuss some of the nation’s top political issues.

He expects to reassure the public that help is on the way from the stimulus package that is expected to be signed a little more than 24 hours before his address. Biden continues to struggle to unify a divided nation that has now traveled through one of the most controversial elections in modern history, while also facing a deadly pandemic that has killed thousands.

President Biden is expected to focus his address on the pandemic recovery and the multi-trillion-dollar stimulus package. He intends to try and assure American citizens that a sufficient level of help is on the way with another collection of stimulus checks, extended unemployment benefits, and additional small business relief.

His first national address comes just months after a controversial election that divided the country in ways that could have never been imagined. President Biden may struggle to reign in support for passing the COVID relief package as many experts believe that a large percentage of citizens will ultimately provide credit to former President Trump for getting the ball started on the $2,000 stimulus checks that will now finally be topped off with the $1,400 extension to cover the original $600 that was paid many weeks ago.

In the days following the upcoming national address, President Biden will likely pay visits to many different parts of the country that are facing major challenges due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He hopes to visit regions that are struggling to reassure them that the days ahead will be better than the pandemic-filled days of the past.

It’s not entirely clear how his crafted message regarding the COVID relief package will resonate with the diverse demographics that currently span across the country.  According to a recent poll that was conducted by Rasmussen, President Biden’s approval rating rests at just 50%. This may be an early indicator that his actions since taking office are not as popular as they originally seemed.

With the benefits of a multi-trillion dollar stimulus package starting to deploy to large percentages of the U.S. population, there’s a good chance that struggling individuals will finally get some of the relief that they have been waiting for as the pandemic drags on.

The nation will finally have a chance to listen to their new President as he expects to address the public on his 50th day in the White House as President of the United States. Biden will have an opportunity to spread a positive message across the country and try to unify the nation. That’s much easier said than done, as many Presidents since the early 2000’s have struggled to truly unify the country during tough times.
