Adele Talks Postpartum Depression in Candid ‘Vanity Fair’ Interview

In a new Vanity Fair feature, Adele admits she doesn’t plan to have any more children, and she candidly discusses the difficult battle she faced with postpartum depression after the birth of son Angelo, 4.

“I felt very inadequate,” the “Hello” says of her early days as a mom. “I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life. It frightened me.”

Reticent to ask for help, Adele suffered in silence until longtime boyfriend Simon Konecki encouraged her to speak to other moms.

“One day I said to a friend, ‘I f–kin’ hate this,’ and she just burst into tears and said, ‘I f–kin’ hate this, too.’ And it was done,” Adele explains simply. “It lifted.”
