Lizzo recently went on Instagram live and broke down in tears over haters and mean comments she receives on her social media. However, Lizzo’s good friend, Cardi B, is not having it from the internet trolls.
Lizzo started crying on her Instagram live over the excessive amount of hate comments she receives, saying they don’t even make sense and are often “fat-phobic and racist” comments. Lizzo has always been confident in her beautiful skin and has shared her healthy lifestyle online for all of her fans, but sometimes the evil comments start to become too much.
Lizzo has been working overtime recently, pushing out 12 hour days between press, rehearsals, and making her music. While she usually brushes off the hate comments like nothing, these long work days are making her more sensitive she says. She feels that when she is working so hard, her “tolerance and patience gets lower.”
She tearfully said on her IG live, “On the days when I should feel the happiest, it just… I feel so down.” Dabbing her eyes with tissues she continued, “Sometimes I feel like the world just don’t love me back. It’s like it doesn’t matter how much positive energy you put into the world, you’re still gonna have people who have something mean to say about you.”
Lizzo and Cardi B recently just released a song called, “Rumors’, and the two have gotten to know each other better and have been spending a lot of time with one another.
Cardi, knowing for herself how good of a person Lizzo is and how she doesn’t deserve the unnecessary amount of hate comments she gets, was not standing for the internet trolls making Lizzo cry.
Cardi B took to Twitter to defend Lizzo. Cardi quote tweeted a clip of Lizzo crying on her IG live and wrote, “When you stand up for yourself they claim your problematic and sensitive. When you don’t they tear you apart until you cry like this. Whether you skinny, big, plastic, they going to always try to put their insecurities on you. Remember these are nerds looking at the popular table.”
Cardi does not play when it comes to standing up for what is right and what is wrong. No one wants to see Lizzo hurt and cry like that, especially Cardi. Hopefully after it unfortunately getting to this point, the internet trolls will back off of Lizzo once and for all and let her shine like she deserves.
