Bob Odenkirk was rushed to the hospital yesterday, July 27th, after collapsing while filming the sixth season of Better Call Saul. While it wasn’t immediately disclosed what caused Odenkirk to collapse or what his condition was, sources now say he is stable and it was due to a heart related incident.
Odenkirk now being stable comes as a major relief due to the pending status of his condition for nearly 24 hours. No one knew of his condition after collapsing, but costars and friends of Odenkirk were taking to social media asking everyone to send Odenkirk positive thoughts and prayers.
His most notoriously famous costar, Bryan Cranston, was amongst the friends of his asking for positive thoughts on social media. Bryan Cranston played the famous role of Walter White in the hit series Breaking Bad where Odenkirk starred alongside him as Saul Goodman.
Another Breaking Bad costar took to social media after Odenkirk’s incident with a touching message of support. Aaron Paul, who played Jessie, shared a photo of Odenkirk to his Instagram page with the caption “I love you my friend.”
Odenkirk played the role of the crooked lawyer in the hit series Breaking Bad. Once that series came to an end, a spin off was created specifically for the character Saul Goodman in which Odenkirk plays.
The spin off is named Better Call Saul and is technically a prequel to Breaking Bad. It showcases the life of Saul Goodman, whose actual name is Jimmy McGill, and what leads up to him becoming the lawyer who helps out Walter White.
The series is still on air and is currently filming it’s sixth and final season. While filming the last season in Albuquerque, New Mexico yesterday, Odenkirk apparently collapsed and had to seek immediate medical attention.
Bob Odenkirk is now in better condition and is stable. His rep put out a statement on his status and recovery. His rep said, “He and his family would like to express gratitude for the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, as well as his cast, crew and producers who have stayed by his side.”
Odenkirk’s rep finished his statement by saying,”The Odenkirks would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of well wishes and ask for their privacy at this time as Bob works on his recovery.”
Bob Odenkirk is on the road to recovery and hopefully this heart related incident isn’t a long term or major issue and he will soon be back to his own self. Until he is completely recovered though he will be taking time to relax and get better in his own privacy for the time being.
