Ryan Reynolds Says He Developed Serious Anxiety After Wrapping ‘Deadpool’

For eleven years, Ryan Reynolds worked to get Deadpool adapted for the big screen. When his dream came true and filming for the box office hit finally wrapped, Reynolds had a physical and emotional reaction he didn’t anticipate.

“I had a little bit of a nervous breakdown. I literally had the shakes,” Reynolds admits in the latest issue of GQ. “I went to go see a doctor because I felt like I was suffering from a neurological problem or something.”

After being diagnosed with anxiety, Reynolds says it made sense because he had invested so much of himself into the film.

“I wasn’t just trying to open it; I was trying to make a cultural phenomenon.”
