U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team Wins Gold By Historic Margin

Anchored by 4 foot 8 powerhouse Simone Biles, the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team fulfilled their destiny in Rio as they won the team all-around gold on August 9.

Biles’ dominance on the world gymnastics circuit is well known, and she was expected to turn in an impressive performance. Teammates Gabby Dougles, Ali Raisman, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocien rose to the occasion, too, propelling the American team to victory at a margin not seen on fifty years.

The pressure was on going into the final event, floor exercise, and Hernandez and Raisman brought in solid scores of 14.833 and 15.366. Biles cemented the team win with an astonishing 15.800 to cap the night.
