Jason Aldean Recalls His Experience On Stage When the Las Vegas Shooting Began

Jason Aldean is finally speaking on camera about his experience performing on stage when the Las Vegas shooting began on October 1. The deadly event saw 58 people killed and 489 injured by a gunman who later turned the gun on himself.

“So when it first happened, I thought a speaker had blown,” Aldean explained. “It just sounded like a crackling something. And so, I’m kind of looking around like, ‘What is that?’ [and] trying to figure out what it is. Then it stopped, so I was like, ‘They must have got it fixed,’ so I kept doing my thing.”

Aldean finally realized the reality of the situation when his guitar player yelled to him to run. He has since dedicated time to fundraising for victims and their families through the Direct Impact Fund.
